Early Christmas Present

Dustin, Logan and I are happy to announce that there will be a new member of the Michels family this coming August 2007! We found out this past weekend that I am pregnant and I had my first doctor's appointment today. Everything seems to be going good according to the doctor. I am only 6 weeks along, so August seems so very far away. This pregnancy came as a bit of a surprise, however, we couldn't be more happy! Please pray with us that the baby will develop as it should and that I will deliver a healthy baby in August. Also, pray that I will have a healthy, normal pregnancy.

FINALLY!!

We seem to all be doing better...finally. Last week was a tough week. In my last post I thought I was on the mend, but the next day proved me wrong. I still have a bit of a cold, but not as bad as last week. Logan is also doing better. He still has a runny nose and cough but he is acting like his normal self. Dustin has been spared our sickness up until now. We pray he doesn't get it!

Something interesting did happen to Dustin last night, though. He was coming down the stairs a bit too quickly to stop Logan from going up the stairs and stepped on a plug to a humidifier and cut the bottom of his foot. Yes, the actual plug went through his sock and cut his foot in one spot and bruised another spot on the bottom of his foot. I know you may be asking what the humidifier was doing on the stairs. Well, we use our upstairs as a storage area and it also houses Dustin's clothes. We tend to line stuff up on the stairs so that when one of us goes up, we can take it all the way up the stairs. I know, we are a bit lazy! : ) We have the upstairs closed off with a door and obviously Logan is not allowed up there. Thus the reason Dustin came back down so quickly to stop Logan. To make a long (yes long!) story short, he spent a few hours in the emergency today. Thankfully nothing major is wrong, but he is in a lot of pain. He is supposed to stay off of it for the next two days. This means that he most likely will go back to work tomorrow! MEN!!!

So, we are hoping to be healed of all our ailments in order to enjoy Christmas and New Years! We have a busy schedule that starts this weekend, but we are very excited! I can't wait for Logan to open his Christmas gifts this year! He is such a big boy and Dustin and I were just talking tonight about how he is becoming a little man!

Oh, one more funny story. I took Logan to get his pictures taken this morning. The plan was for Dustin to go with me and help but he was at the hospital so I went alone with my boy. Every time Logan has gone to have pictures taken, he has been great...until today! Now, if you were to see the proofs you would never imagine what an ordeal I went through with him. He has the most beautiful smile in all of the pictures, but trying to get him to sit or stand up alone for the photographer to take his picture was a mess. He would cling to me and fuss and then the photographer would get his attention at the last minute and make him laugh. After 6 pictures, and me sweating up a storm, I decided that was enough. I thanked the photographer and asked him if he thought we got at least one good picture, and sure enough they all were great! What started off rocky ended up priceless.

I hope everyone has a good, healthy and safe week!

A House Full of Sick People

The title of this post speaks for itself. Logan and I have been sick all day. My sickness started last Wednesday and progressively got worse as the days went on. Yesterday, I didn't even take a shower I felt so bad! I am feeling better today...thank you Lord! Logan had a rough day today so hopefully tomorrow will be better. Dustin has not been sick thus far, although tonight he did take some cold and flu medicine because he felt achy. I guess working outside all day doesn't help him either since the temperature is in the 20s.

Besides our illness this week, the past few weeks have been crazy! The week of Thanksgiving was very busy. The weekend after Thanksgiving Day was packed with shopping, scrapbooking (both me) and golfing (Dustin). It was a nice holiday weekend. Then this past week was full even into the weekend until yesterday when I became my sickest! So, hopefully we are on the mend and I am praying that Dustin doesn't get sick.

That's all for now. Hopefully I will write another (more exciting) post tomorrow! Too tired tonight!

Future Golfer ?

One night last week, Logan and I were waiting for Dustin to get home from work. I was sitting in the chair reading a magazine and Logan was playing with his toys. He has always loved carrying around a bat that he got for his birthday. He usually drags it behind him or carries it on his shoulder. Well, this particular night I happened to look up and he was "golfing." Now, I know that you all may think I am crazy, but look at the pictures! My baby has perfect form.

We have always played baseball with him but have never showed him specifically how to golf. I was laughing so hard at him because when he would get in the golfing stance and hit the ball (or try to) he would grunt or yell. It was hysterical. He would usually miss and end up hitting me in the knee!

I ran to get my camera to take some pictures, but of course, because of the delay when using the digital camera, I missed a number of poses. I kept putting the ball in front of him and telling him to swing. After 5 minutes or so of deleting pictures after taking them, I finally got the two pictures below.

So, this is what I am thinking, if we start him golfing now, then in 15-20 years he can become a professional golfer, make lots of money and support his mom and dad! Who knows!

It's Been A While...

I am still a part of the blog world, just haven't written in a while. Here are a couple of things that have happened since I've last blogged...

First, (going back a few weeks) we are very sad that the Detroit Tigers did not win the World Series. It was a bit tough around here for a few days. We are reminding ourselves that they actually made it to the World Series, which was a huge accomplishment, instead of reliving the loss over and over. There is always next year!!

Halloween was fun! Logan was the cutest lion I have ever seen. We had tried on his costume a few weeks before Halloween to make sure it fit and he wasn't too thrilled with it at the time. This made me nervous all day Halloween. I didn't know if he was going to put it on or not. I had to somewhat force it on him at first, but then he did good the rest of the evening. He actually wore it until all of the grandparents and aunts and uncles had seen him. Mommy was very proud of him.

Dustin and I actually went to a movie last weekend with my brother and sister-in-law. It was very nice to get away from the house to be an adult for a few hours. I won't tell you which movie we saw, but it was good. We thought it was a comedy but it was also a bit suspenseful. At one point, the movie got a bit tense and Amy and I were sitting next to each other with Dustin and Scott on each end and all of a sudden something happened in the movie and both Amy and I screamed! Yes, that is right. Two grown women screamed in the middle of a movie theater. I seriously am laughing about it now as I type! After the screaming stopped, we proceeded to laugh as quietly as possible for the next 5 minutes. I couldn't even look at Amy without laughing. Because I was laughing so hard, I began to cry also. I swear, Dustin can't take me anywhere!

We celebrated Dustin's birthday last Saturday. He got to sleep in and watch a bunch of football games throughout the day. I, however, felt the need to clean everything that day. I totally cleaned and organized our bedroom, Logan's bedroom, the kitchen, dining room, living room and some of the upstairs storage area. Whew!!! Later that night, we had our parents and siblings over for Chinese food and cupcakes (birthday boy's choice!). It was nice to have everyone together, however, Dustin and I have decided that the older you get, the less exciting birthdays are!

Daddy's birthday card!)

Well, that is it for now. I promise to update more often and not just overload you with one huge post! Have a great day!

(This picture has nothing to do
with anything referenced in
my post, but isn't it the cutest?!
I got Logan up and out of bed
one morning, but apparently
he wasn't ready to start his day, yet!)
